Farmer Grey was a good, kind man and the horses had a good life. He called
Black Beauty with Blackie. His mother told him that not all people were good

sometimes one of the children thought of him as a machine. They never thought
of him as a living pony who had feelings and who could get tired and angry.
One warm
afternoon, in the orchard, Black Beauty met with Sir Oliver. Sir Oliver told
him about why his tail was so short. Black Beauty’s new master was a man who
gave name of Black Beauty.
One day his
master needed to take a long business trip. In the journey, they got the
problem. The weather was so bad. They avoid the bridge. The water was already over the middle of the
bridge. Black Beauty refused to avoid that bridge until the watchman of the
bridge ran out and waved a torch at them. He told that the bridge was broken in
the middle. The master said thanks to Black Beauty. Black Beauty was very proud
of it. They got home later but safe. James, got a better job with neraby farmer

One day, Black
Beauty and Ginger were put on the carriage, and James drove them. They went to
many different places in the city. In the meantime James was improving his

One night John unlocked the stable door and cried. He wanted to Black Beauty to
ride as fast as Black Beauty can. They must picked the Dr. White to help the

John was at him side, but he know that John still walking home from the
doctor’s home. After a long while, John was coming, he covered Back Beauty with
two or three warm blankets and hot water. John was very angry with Joe.
The Gordons
moved abroad and Black Beauty and Ginger were sold to Earlshall Park. They had
a good groom, he was Mr. York, but the mistress was unkind and made the horses
wear bearing reins so that they held their head up high, which was fashionable
in London. And Merrylegs gave to the local priest by Mr. Gordon.
One day, Mr.
York went away on business. A man named Reuben Smith. He knew how to care for
horses. But Reuben Smith had one problem – he drank to much. One night, Reuben
Smith got drunk and rode Black Beauty very hard and used a whip. Black Beauty

Beauty’s leg were badly cut. He survived but his legs were scared and Lord
Westland decided to sell him.

Black Beauty need oats. Because Filcher caughted by policeman. The master hired
a new groom. But the new groom was so lazy. Until the master sold Black Beauty
to the horses fair.
Black Beauty’s
next home was with a London cab driver, Jeremiah Barker. Everyone called him
with Jerry. Jerry and his family treated Black Beauty very well, but te work as
haed and the hours were long. For some people Christmas and the New Year are
very happy times, but this is not true for cab-drivers and their horses.
On the evening on the New Year Jerry and
Black Beauty had to take two gentlemen to the city square. When they was
waiting that gentlemen in the cold weather, Jerry got off the cab and pulled
Black Beauty’s blanket up further on his neck. By the time Jerry was coughing
badly and there was no shelter for him. After a week, Jerry had passed the
danger point. And the doctor said that Jerry must never go back to the cab work
again.
Finally Jerry
sold Back Beauty to his friend, but it
not to long. Black Beauty sold again. Black Beauty’s healthy was bad. And he
sold to a farmer, who promised to look after him and find him a good home. His
name was Mr. Thoroughgood. He took him
to some women at Rose Hall. There, Black Beauty was reunited with Joe. The
young groom who used to look after him at Mr Gordon’s home. The women wanted to keep Black Beauty, so once again he had a kind and happy
